About Us
The Global Archaeological Database or the GAD is more than just a regular online database, it’s a modern, accessible and easy-to-use tool for everyone around the world to use for free.
The GAD’s purpose is to make the process of cataloguing more efficient. This database is designed with everyone in mind– archaeologists, teachers, students, museums, university institutes and everyone else. That way, people can use GAD to discover thousands of artefacts from around the world and learn about them.
This database offers special features such as viewing and exploring artefacts with VR, an AI powered analysis to find similarities with other artefacts and keyword filters to specify regions and time periods. For archaeologists that are uploading artefacts after cataloguing, they can add details such as the exact location it was discovered, what time period it was formed or created and describe the material type.
GAD can make a huge difference in the world. By everyone sharing and learning about different artefacts, we will be able to create new connections between civilizations. This can also reshape our perspective and relationship with our past. Everyone can access trustworthy information to use for research and educational learning. These will be approved by admins and moderators to avoid random posts and spam entries.
We are run solely on donations. No annoying pop-up ads, or expensive subscriptions. All donations are welcome, everything helps. The donations are crucial to ensure that we can keep paying the server and storage costs of such an extensive database, and so that we can keep GAD free and accessible for everyone, forever!
Little Monsters, also known as 9 LM, Class of 2029 or the most passionate FLL team, is a small 9th grade class from the International School of Bergen. We consist of 13 hardworking students who have spent months coding the database, writing reports and building our robot. We have put lots of dedication and effort into our innovation and robot project. Our goal is to make an impact, and we hope that GAD has been as impactful, helpful, and practical as we hoped.
